Somalia Dixon Is Named Super Lawyers Rising Star

Haug Barron Law Group is proud to announce that Partner Somalia Dixon has been named to the 2026 Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Stars list.

Super Lawyers, a rating service owned by Thomson Reuters, builds its lists through peer nominations, independent research, and a review of professional achievement and standing with the state bar. The Rising Stars list applies the same evaluation as the main Super Lawyers list with one added requirement: candidates must be 40 years old or younger, or in practice for 10 years or less. No more than 2.5% of attorneys in a state are named.

Path to Partner

Somalia’s history with Haug Barron Law Group started before she had a law license. She joined the firm as an intern during the summer after her first year of law school, stayed on as a law clerk, and accepted an associate attorney position after passing the Georgia Bar Exam. She built a record of results as an associate and was named partner.

Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Somalia decided she wanted to be an attorney as a child. She studied Criminal Justice with a minor in Legal Studies at SUNY Buffalo State, then worked as an insurance agent for a major carrier before moving to Atlanta for law school. At Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School she served as a Peer Mentor and as Treasurer of the Black Law Students Association, earned the CALI Award for Legal Writing, and later returned to the classroom as a Legal Writing Teaching Assistant.

That insurance background shapes how she works a file. Somalia spent years on the side of the table that assigns value to a claim, which means she can read an adjuster’s opening position for what it is and build the record needed to move it.

Somalia has secured dozens of six-figure recoveries for injured clients, all of it in roughly six years of practice since her 2020 admission to the State Bar of Georgia.

One recent case involved a client who was rear-ended and suffered injuries serious enough to require spinal surgery. The insurance company’s initial offer was zero. Somalia built the case through litigation and resolved it at mediation for $400,000.

Outside the Office

Somalia lives in the Atlanta area with her husband and four daughters. She reads, travels, and is an active member of her church with a focus on the youth department. She is also a Buffalo Bills fan and still makes it back to Buffalo for tailgates when she can.
